KPMG UK has kickstarted a new 12-month scaleup growth programme in Manchester, in which a cohort of 15 businesses will receive support from the professional services firm.

The cohort includes Wigan-based agritech food chemical security company Redag, Birmingham's METCLOUD and Salford’s Mymanu, which has developed live voice translation earbuds.

The companies have been identified by KPMG as high-potential businesses that will be supported with insights, knowledge and a large network of advisors.

The founders will take monthly masterclasses on business fundamentals covering topics such as leadership, resilience, governance and building effective boards, ESG strategy and reporting and international growth.

There will also be four peer networking events and regular one-to-one mentorship sessions with the founders.

“This is an exciting, access-all-areas opportunity for a carefully selected supergroup of UK innovators to gain unrivalled support during a critical phase of their growth journey,” said Amy Burnett, head of KPMG Private Enterprise Access.

“These are the businesses that hold the potential to make major breakthroughs in their respective sectors, with some holding answers to key societal challenges in healthcare and net zero. Backing them with a comprehensive programme will help them to make their vision a success.”

KPMG Emerging Giants’ Jill Hilton will act as the Access cohort lead. The programme was first created on 14 June at Ignition North, a KPMG UK collaborative hub in Manchester.

Other businesses selected for the cohort include Magway, a Wembley engineer of hyperloop delivery systems and Coventry’s NanoSyrinx develops a nano-syringe that aims to allow medicine to efficiently access the interior of a cell.
