Who we are

Acceleris Capital Ltd is an established corporate finance boutique, in operation since 2000.

We have an expertise in arranging and managing investments by private individuals under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS), as well as taking an active role in our investee companies. Acceleris has, to date, arranged funds in excess of £80m into over 50 companies through more than 100 transactions.

Acceleris has a focus on technology and high value-added companies and ensures an active involvement with the companies post-investment. Through it’s active network of High Net Worth investors and strong relationships with institutional investors, Acceleris is well placed to deploy funds into all transaction stages from early-stage through to development and acquisition.

We are an Appointed Representative of Seneca Partners. Seneca is an Investment Management and Corporate Advisory services group which specialises in the SME sector, dealing with UK based companies in the turnover range of up to £100 million per annum.




Norman Molyneux

Norman has been Chief Executive of Acceleris Capital since founding the company in 2000. Norman holds numerous board positions with Acceleris client companies and Seneca Partners while also sitting on the University of Liverpool Management School Advisory Board and The London Stock Exchange North West Regional Advisory Group.

Norman is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant, has a Masters Degree in Finance and Accountancy and is an FCA approved person.

His transactional experience includes restructuring, MBO/MBIs, spin-outs, flotations, rights issues, open offers, seed investment and has advised on over 70 transactions raising over £100m and creating over 500 jobs across the North-West.

Ian Currie

Ian qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986 with KPMG and has been involved in corporate finance with Peel Hunt & Co, Apax Partners & Co and Altium Capital. He co-founded Zeus Group and at the point of demerger in 2010, the Group had over £350m of assets in a variety of businesses, including corporate finance, private equity, stockbroking and pension administration. Ian sits on the Board of Hedley & Co Stockbrokers, is a founder and majority shareholder of Liberty SIPP, is a partner of Palatine Private Equity LLP and is on the Board of Trustees for the Lowry Arts Centre in Manchester


Simon Thorn

Simon joined Acceleris Capital in 2004 having graduated from university with a BA (Hons) Degree in Accounting & Finance.

Simon has advised on over on over 50 transactions for private and listed SMEs and has led EIS fundraisings with both VC involvement and high net worth individuals. His transactional experience include fundraisings, restructuring, rights issues, spin-outs and disposals. He is responsible for investment monitoring and communication for several client companies of Acceleris and also provides outsourced company secretarial and accountancy services.

Simon is an FCA Approved Person and has completed the Certificate in Corporate Finance and is one of the first in the UK to complete the EIS Diploma. 2014 saw Simon win ‘Young Dealmaker of the Year’ at the Insider Media Awards and ‘Best Innovation, Newcomer or Rising Star – Individual’ at the 2014 EISA Awards.



David Youngman

David has spent most of his working life in stockbroking. From May 1995 to 2009, he was Managing Director and Head of Corporate Finance at WH Ireland. During that period, WH Ireland grew from one office with a turnover of less than £1 million to 12 UK offices and an Australian subsidiary with turnover in excess of £30 million. David has almost 35 years’ experience in stockbroking and corporate finance and, in over the course of the last nine years of this stockbroking career, was responsible for a portfolio of over 60 companies admitted to AIM.


Patrick Molyneux

Patrick joined Acceleris Capital in February 2014 having graduated from Lancaster University with a degree in Economics and Politics.

Patrick is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, an FCA approved person and has passed the EIS Diploma.

Since joining the company following a period working for a high-growth startup, Patrick has worked with a variety of companies from Biotechnology to health foods concentrating on deal structure and investment documentation, also assisting with Investor communication and managing all press activities.

Patrick has successfully led a rebrand of all documentation across the Seneca Group aswell as implementing a bespoke client management system currently being utilised across the Seneca group of companies.

Following Acceleris Capitals strategic merger with InvestingZone, Patrick is working closely with the company in business development and marketing aswell as sitting on the board as company secretary.
